It will be true if I said almost everyone in their school-age must have thought of becoming a doctor or engineer. There are several reasons behind such thinking. The foremost among those reasons is the high status of doctors in our society. Furthermore, the field of medical is considered to be a sacred field. Doctors help in saving lives and for that reason, they are known to be performing a holy duty. There are several top medical universities in Pakistan. According to the higher education commission of Pakistan (HEC), there are 86 medical institutes in Pakistan and if we classify them into public and private universities, we get 36 public and 50 are private medical colleges.
HEC has laid down the criteria for selecting the best medical universities in Pakistan. It provides a total score to a university on the basis of these factors.

1. Aga Khan University, Karachi
Aga Khan University was established in 1983 by his Highness Agha Khan. The institute started with a single campus in Pakistan with an aim to provide quality education in developing countries.
